Message From The Chair

Riverview Health Centre is a facility that offers hope and comfort to those Manitobans and their families who are living with long term illness or debilitating conditions. The Riverview Health Centre Foundation is an organization of dedicated volunteers and staff who work hard to further enhance the Centre's ability to provide quality care and home-like surroundings for all those in need of its services.

Winston Churchill said “We Make a Living by What We Get; We Make a Life by What We Give”!

People give financially with their money and personally with their time.

I am honored to be the Chair of Riverview Health Centre Foundation. Along with my volunteer Board of Directors our goal is to spread the praises of the work undertaken at Riverview Health Centre and to encourage Manitobans to support the fundraising initiatives of the Foundation for the benefit of Riverview.

The list of projects completed and contemplated is exhaustive; the conservatory at the main entrance of the facility allows residents and patients to experience the brilliance of sunlight, especially in our daylight limited winters. Walkways through the property, wheelchair assessment programs, refurbishment of the palliative care wing, daily quality of life programmes are a small sampling of the projects funded by the Foundation.

The Foundation is in the process of raising funds for the re-invention of Riverview’s Alzheimer’s/ Dementia Units and the building of an attached activity centre.

Donors have and continue to make significant contributions to highlight our past as a health centre and to allow us to move forward as we provide for the ever changing health needs of Manitobans. I invite you to contribute to Riverview as a donor, a volunteer or both.

Thank You

Bob Sokalski

Chair, Board of Directors
